Jesus often spoke about being in the Father and the Father being in Him. John 8:29, 10:38, 14:7, 14:10, 16:32, 17:21 etc.
This fact was the powerhouse that enabled Jesus to accomplish His work. In a sense He was feeding on this union on a daily basis… Jesus had the capacity to be nourished and energized simply by feasting on His Fathers pleasure and love for Him.
In John 6:51, Jesus uses similar language regarding us “I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread he will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world…v54, whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood dwells in me and I in him“. It is all about ‘learning how to be continually sustained by His life’ – (which is within us).
Then in 6:57, Jesus says it plainly “just as – I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me“. Jesus is actually saying to us “You can live from the life that is in me, in the same way that I lived from the life that is in the Father“. Jesus himself demonstrated how we can be nourished and energized for life, we simply do what He did, a daily feasting on the Lords pleasure and love for us.
So how do we feed on Jesus?
We fill our screen up with the pleasure and love that God has for us. We broadcast it 24/7 into our conscious thinking. We eliminate all thoughts of unworthiness, guilt and shame by playing over & over & over again the newsreel of God’s great pleasure and love for us, which is ours as God looks upon the sacrifice of Christ – (which is in us).
The only way we can ever be convinced of His pleasure and love is to place all of our confidence in the effectiveness of Christ’s blood. We must look away from our sins and failures – just as God does. We must take the radical step of becoming righteousness conscious, instead of sin conscious.
Without an awareness that Jesus is in us we will tend to see His sustenance for life as being beyond our reach, we will be always grasping for Him, His favour and His pleasure.
‘Jesus in me’ means that the bread of life is now nourishing me from the inside, the very flesh and blood sacrifice of Christ is now at home in me – attracting the Fathers pleasure and love.

I’ve got a feeling its a childrens song. When Martin Luther received the revelation of salvation by grace through faith it turned His world up-side-down, he ceased His life of self guilt and entered the blissful place of forgiveness. cheers, G
I need to remain in my spirit to enjoy this reality.
In my mind or emotion I will feel condemned by my failures and sins
and I will try to please God by my efforts,
forgetting that the Father finds His delight in the Beloved Son who is in my spirit.
It defies logic to think that God takes pleasure in me without me doing anything but placing faith in Jesus…but He does!!
